Scoring: IMP

(P) - 1 - (2) - X
(P) - 3 - (P) - 4NT
(P) - 5 - (P) - 5
(P) - 5 - (P) - 6NT

5 = 1 or 4 key cards
5 = 0 outside kings.

Result 6NT = on club lead :P

Comments please.

1: OK, but not my style, I would open 4.
X: why not 2? Are you playing negative freebids?
3: 2 would be enough IMHO.
4N: Assuming you play NFB, I suppose 3 is better.
5: OK
5: Why ask for kings when you know you miss a keycard and apparently are going to bid slam opposite zero kings? Besides, shouldnt it ask for the queen of trumps?
6N: OK but it would have been more logical to bid it in the previous round (except if the king ask was tactical).
Pass: OK

I strongly dislike the 1 opening

I hate the 3 rebid

I have no idea why North that that 5 was a King ask

I have enormous sympathy for South

in the system the next step (except an agreed suit) after a reply to RCKB is king ask. Might not be the best, but it is what is played and N did reply correctly to it.

Okay this north hand is much stronger then its HCPS shows, so 1 Heart is okay for me, but vul. I had prefered a direct 3 Heart opening, which descirbes this hand pretty well.
X was fine as long as you play NFB, else 2 Spade is much better.

3 Heart was a gross overbid.

4 NT is okay, after 3 HEart you don´t care for a spade fit, so 3 Spade would not necessarily be natural.
5 Club was correct 5 Diamond not. You know you miss akC and you want to bid the slam with the missing KC, so why ask again?
6 NT is no good idea. Pd had shown a hand with no outside king, so you know that the diamonds will be open(or pd has QJ and needs a finesse.
6 HEart is the place to be, just in case pd has nothing in Diamonds.
Kind Regards

Roland

1: Don't get it. Looks like a hand drawn from a Pre-Empts chapter.

X by South: ??. Surely people who bid like this aren't playing something as fancy as negative free bids. 2 ....

It gets even wackier from there. A Blackwood bid, and asker knows they're missing an Ace, but asker then asks for Kings?? And 5 should be the Queen ask anyhow.

Wacky. And sometimes, wacky gets a great result. But maybe South should just bid 6nt over 2 :P

You landed on your feet. Next time the opps will lead a diamond and you won't feel so great. I echo the comments about 1H and the negative x.

I loathe the 1 opening; that's a near textbook 4 opening.

The negative double in this situation are for hands that have no constructive call. You have an excellent 2, forcing call. After pard finds a raise to 3, then you can make another noise here with RKCB. Once tho you table RKCB, pard will have some troubles trying to decipher how to answer it.

#1 1H, ok I will quit the partnership
after this one, except partner changes his
behaviour
#2 X, ok the alternative being 2S (forcing)
#3 3H, ok I will quit the partnership
after this one, except partner changes his
behaviour
#4 4NT, reasonable
#5 6NT, reasonable

With kind regards

I don't like 1H.

Double is really wrong, got to bid 2 here.

3H is way too much, that shows a far stronger hand.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
