1♦-(p)-1♥-(1♠);
dbl - (2♠)-p-p;
3♦??
3♦ shows "4+D, 3H, 17-22 total points".
I think it should show 6+ diamonds and allowed on less points.

Same situation?
The 3♣ bid should be competitive, not showing 17-22 total points

Maybe its triggered by the support double?
With other options available it takes the three club bid as something else?
3♥ what would it take that as?
3♣ seems like it should be game try....which xxx doesnt look good enough or could be i made support double on Hx and giving choice of contracts
But I hardly ever look at what GIBs bids mean so how he interpets a human bid, I just dont think its right to pre read what all your bids mean. They should take that out of the equation cause its not real bridge

Who said anything about pre-reading? As you can see, I made the 3♣ bid thinking it should simply be competitive, since I didn't know about CHO's fifth heart.

Generally doesnt the one heart call show five?I would think with four hearts it would make negative double.

No. Over 1♣-(1♦) GIB will only make a negative double with 4 of both majors; with one or the other, he bids his suit. (As you can see, the explanation of 1♥ is 4+H, 6+ total points.)

I wouldnt really worry too much about three club bid, he could have taken you off the hook by bidding three hearts

That is completely beside the point. North could have been 24(43) and I should be able to compete to 3♣ without having my bid taken as showing that strong a hand.

I'm intrigued that this 3♠ bid is seen as strictly competitive, not invitational like the others.
