Minor suit - I would go with a diamond, but partners silence over 5C
says nothing, he cant have anything useful anyway.
May aim is to go as passive as possible.
With kind regards

♥ to score our queen eventually or a ruff.
Shouldn't that read: "to ensure we don't score our queen, though perhaps we'll get a ruff instead"?

Not really, if declarer has something like A10xxx opposite KJ9 in his hand we will normally score no heart trick unless we lead the suit, obviously some slow tricks on the minors that prevent ruffing are neccesary

seems like a heart will always win when the ace of spades is under the k, as declarer is bound to finesse and i can lead a trump. Suspect they are in a 5-3 fit anway, in which case always wins if the k of spades scores.

Agree with a heart. As Fluffy says, our holding is likely DOA so we might as well shoot for the ruff.
