What is your plan ?
Does playing lead directing raise is more important than natural " potential sacrifice" bids ?

unpassed hand void in partner suit. Delayed lightner ?

From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

4♠ is a heavy favorite to go down. The plan is to let it be then.
If opps skillfully manage to stop in 3, then I'd try 4♦.

If X was lead directing (and not showing real hearts) I'd bid that.
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

Double should show hearts here.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I bid 4D here planning to X 4S for a unusual lead. 5D is -1 and 4S make despite the H lead, (LHO has a D void so i cannot get to partner hand a 2nd time + im ruffing a slow H trick). But our disagreement is should 4D always show a H tol (is it forcing ?) Vul or by a passed hand 4D should be a lead directing raise but NV 4D as and invite to sacrifice has to be more important no ?

It may seem a little convoluted, but what I like to do is play transfers at and beyond the level of the cue bid after which if advancer later supports overcaller is just a lead director should the opponents take the auction. Here's how it works: 1♠-(2♥)-3♥-(4♣) to show ♦'s or a ♦-lead directing raise of overcaller's ♥s. IMHO, the best of both worlds are achieved. The only reasonable bids I see available to actually provide partner an inference to lead their own ♥ suit would be [Pass] or [X]. I have to fully agree with 'whereagles' and hope to either get the ♦s in later and look for either a lead of a ♥ or ♦A or Q or another with at least one visible in dummy. I'm just not sure how much of a favorite the ops game is to fail.
Change the rounded cards in the hand around to:
♠Axx
♥xxx
♦KJ98xxxx
♣---
I'd have to chose to ask for a ♣ lead here via a 3♠ call - when rather liking a suit, but also having a void the decision about which to feature gets tough.
Rest of the available bids and meanings for those curious:
After 1♠-(2♥)-3♥-
3♠* = ♣'s or a ♣-lead directing ♥ raise
3NT = To play
4♣* = ♦'s or a ♦-lead directing ♥ raise
4♦ = Good ♥ raise
4♥ = Preemptive ♥ raise
* any subsequent ♥ bid by the transferer CANCELs the expectation of a long suit alternative sacrifice and instead requests the directed lead to help defeat the contract whether it's later doubled or not.
