I was thinking about a hand I played a couple of years ago (on vugraph). I noticed that there was discussion from the commentators about this sequence:

(2H)-P-(2S)-P
(3D)-3H

What does 3H show for you? Does it matter how many cards 2H promises?

At first glance I'd say it has to be natural, but I doubt that this makes sense when opps are Vulnerable or sound bidders. :)

yikes .. the only thing I can think of is a stopper inquiry, holding a bunch of cashing clubs. But then why pass the first time? meh ...

Here's the hand that prompted it.

The discussion was mainly based on whether NS can get into the bidding. Yes, I was the 2H opener :). Gained 3 imps after misplaying and going -1 when 3H made by South in the other room (should also be -1)

Because he has a penalty pass? So the 3 call is a stopper ask alright.....in :)

Psychers usually pass their partner's bid.
