I think I stumbled onto something folks might really like. Check out my blog at www.cuebiddingatbridge.blogspot.com.
The idea allows a couple of neat things. In one methods, over a weak 1NT, you can double as penalty/values while still showing (1) either major or both majors and competitive only, or (2) both majors or one major and extras, all without leaving the two-level.
Using the same methodology, you could also, over a strong 1NT, show:
1. Any one-suit without going to the three-level (except for clubs)
2. Any two-suiter by specifying the specific two suits without leaving the two-level except for clubs and half of the diamonds contracts
3. Any 4-card major with a six-card minor without leaving the two-level except to play the minor
4. Both minors
As an introduction, consider the simpler first example. The core structure:
1NT-?
X = values
2C = one or both majors, competitive only (Advancer bids 2D to prefer spades)
2D = majors, extras
2M = indicated major, extras
The key is a call two-below a "two or one suiter" grouping with a call one-below showing preference for the higher of two possible suits.
I think this is really cool, so maybe some of you might like this.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Seems interesting. You lose the chance to bid
1NT 2C* pass 2D**
* majors
** bid your 5-card suit
but other than that seems nice. The more important issue here is to sort out what a constructive overcall shows, as compared to 1NT dbl + bid a major later.
