The Bridge Winners thread on the 2012 hall of fame turned a little ugly, so it definately needed to be immortalized.

Thanks Carol for joining both bridgebase and youtube today. For those viewing the video, it might be noted that the casting was not ideal, and, for example, I haven't seen Geoff with that much hair in some time. The bridgewinners thread has not yet descended into rants in caps, but there is hope, as Rosenberg just called on JKW to admit that some of her statements were false, which will heat things up nicely, or, maybe, not so nicely.

Is it just a coincidence that all of the nominees were born 1948-1951?

No, you have to be 60 to be nominated.

All i can say is WOW
"Genius has its own limitations, however stupidity has no such boundaries!"
"It's only when a mosquito lands on your testicles that you realize there is always a way to solve problems without using violence!"
"Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say."

I'm taking notes for the posty awards of 2012.
I'm sure you could dig up a lot of controversy about Justin on these forums some 5 years or so ago and bring it up at an opportune time.

I would just expect a HOF all time great bridge player to represent or at least compete in the final phase often to represent the ACBL over the years for the World Championships.
I understand you can get voted into the HOF for reasons other than being a great alltime bridge player.

Another discussion is whether the ACBL should set up a Womens and Seniors HOF.

"Timo: You're so unamerican, you wouldn't know patriotic if it bit you in the ass! With a name like 'Timo' how could you?!" (paraphrasing mine)
This all reminds me of the old joke:
An American and Russian are at the WBF championships. The American says to the Russian "In my country we have freedom, I can even make fun of our president." The Russian responds "So what, in my country we can make fun of your president too."
