Congrats to Helene, Roland etc, on the toughest group of the eurocup, one of the favourites starts falling. And this is a group where every point is golden.

Germany made the things right althou Portugal was very close to scoring twice. But Germany is Germany.

So Gonzalo, you're pretty confident of Spain's results...

Last time we lost our opening match was 1988. No prize to guess how that ended :)

For what its worth I'd say Germany has more chances to win than Spain, but it is close, something like 40% Germany-30% Spain-30% others. If the players in Germany were put into another contry I wouldn't think they have that much chances, just being germany gives them some edge.

Italy played really strong today- but Spain did not disappoint either... And both teams will reach the quartfinals for sure.

The Germans had been lucky yesterday, a draw had been more then deserved for Portugal.
Kind Regards

The only team that has shown (until yet) a really good performance is Russia. Its a petty that these technical perfect guys are mostly over 30, I am afraid their physical power is very limited,

Russia had been lucky right after halftime against quite a weak opponent. I doubt that they will reach the semis.

Spain didn't do a great job on the first, we miss our scorer a bit. But Italy is always tough for us, 4 years ago we could only beat it on penalty shots. England vs France playing right now.

I like transitive relationships.

Germany > Portugal > Denmark > Holland.

The Dutch group is very interesting now with Holland not out of it with 2 losses and Germany not through with 2 wins.

Goal difference and goals scored could easily come into this.

Luckily, football results aren't transitive. Otherwise the local club in the town where I live would be rather high up:

Dortmund > Fürth > Bayern :)

So, when's the last time Holland ended a tournament with 3 losses?

To lose 2 maches vs Italy at the one evening, it's a really hard thing for Germany.

Merkel lost 0-3 vs Monti in Brussels, Löw 1-2 in Warsaw B-)

There's a joke doing the rounds about one of the Republic of Ireland players going to the fortune teller and being delighted to be told they'd get as many points as the Dutch ...
