Double or Overcall

I overcall. If they have a spade fit, we're probably shut out anyway (which may not be bad at this vulnerability); if they don't or they don't bounce to a high level in spades, I can likely get back in and partner will know my diamonds are a couple cards longer than my hearts.

Depending on what your partner understanding is, I'd try to double or bid 2NT (if that shows 2 lowest instead of 2 minors), since those two-suited bids tend to imply a longer minor anyway. Like if the suits were reversed, you'd hit the 2H button without thinking about it.

Double
Never hide your major when you hold a good hand unless there is an extreme discrepancy between your suits. 6-4 is not enough, at least not when the 4 card major suit is very respectable.
There is no good reason why partner can not have long hearts and a singleton diamond.
Overcalling in diamonds would in fact deny having hearts. DBL is descriptive.

Double - for reasons already mentioned. If overcall 2♦ we might lose the ♥. Say partner holds xxxx, Jxxx, Kxx, Ax. We'll never find ♥ over the 2♦ overcall.

Double. Because double says I have hearts and diamonds, and I have hearts and diamonds. Also, because I try not to outsmart myself by overthinking these.

I agree with Dake here. In the sandwich seat 1NT should not be natural, but should be 4M 5+m

Some pairs play a 2♣ overcall here to show 6 diamonds and 4 hearts. In that case it is a no-brainer. Otherwise both double and 2♦ are ok.

I hope this won't start a new discussion about this topic. Anyway I disagree.
Anyway, given the options and because I'm way too weak to start with 2♦ and Dbl/reverse afterwards, I'll Dbl now to get both suits in.

We are way too weak to... That's why I bid 2♦ first. If the opponents go to 4♠, anyway it's not a real problem to miss the hearts, because partner won't play at the 5 level without knowing I have a monster in shape.
But if the auctions are back on me at 2♠ or 3♠, then I can double to show now 4 hearts. Partner knows now that I have 6 diamonds (otherwise, I would have doubled first instead of 2♦) and 4 hearts.
