Partner opens 2NT and S-fit found

IMP's (teams)

- Do you agree with the bidding till now?
I was South and had following other options:
1. Bid 4♠ iso 4♣, to play
2. Bid 4♣ iso 3♣, to show slam-interest with ♣ (partner bids 4NT to deny interest).

- Question about the bidding till now:
It is not clear for North if South has a good hand without ♥-control or a hand as above.
Should North always continue with a ♥-control or only with extra's?

If South had a good hand with a heart control, South would move past 4S, clearly. Probably 4NT.

There are three remaining options. Good slam hand without heart control, mild slam try with heart control, or mild without heart control.

Thinking logically, I would expect the strongest of these to bypass game, because the issue is probably just control, with probable 5-level safety otherwise. If no safety, is mild.

This leaves mild with and without. Two bids for two holdings. Logic suggests the obvious of 4H mild with, 4S mild without.

Now, judgment is up to you.

Balanced hands with a 2-3 point range do not have extras on slam bidding unless specifically agreed (last train bid), when partner bids 4♠ here is a direct question about heart control and cannot be rejected.

BTW, it seems that 6C is the better contract.

Completely disagree, you can always pass a sign off in 4M.

I also completely disagree. When assessing suitability for slam in spades a strong balanced hand can have a huge range of potential holdings.
