2D = 18-20 balanced
3D = transfer (unfortunately your methods don't allow you to transfer at the four-level)

... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I would lead a club.
Usually your lead questions are quite tricky and I find the club sticks out so far that it must be wrong.

On this hand you might go for -800 in 4, as our opponents did.

Usually my lead questions (and my bidding questions, and some of my play questions) are just hands where I didn't know what to do. If we get a solid vote for one particular choice, that's fine with me - at least I'll know what I should have done.

I think you mean fortunately. And I know the hand, but would lead a trump.

I keep flipping between a trump and a club, but eventually my distaste for trump leads would probably win.

I would lead a trump. Club seems reasonable too.

This is the full hand:

I led a club, but that let it through: club lead ruffed, A, heart ruff, club ruff, heart ruffed and overruffed, K to the ace, spade back to the queen, endplaying East.

I think the club lead is a mistake. They've bid to 4 under their own steam, in at best a 9-card fit, when we might have beeing stopping in 3. They must have some shape to justify that. In particular LHO, a passed hand, competed to 3, so he's likely to have a shortage.

I agree. A club is a poor choice. A trump is "obvious".
