Your 2 bid showed 6 diamonds, about 8-11 points. What do you expect partner to have for this double?

Partner has a limited hand with 6 s. In analogous auctions, e.g. where partner opened 2 or 3, double would be for penalties, so it probably should be here. Without prior agreement, however, Pass could be a dangerous final decision.

Pd created the top/bottom situation. Every call is dangerous.
Pass and lead a diamond, probably the queen.

sure, but ramp just so slightly it to

AJx KJxx x AQxxx or
Axx KQTx x AJxxx

and you probably know a few good players who would double it on the fly.
