Seriously? They totally forgot how to play punt protection/coverage because they devoted all their energy to learning a ****ing dropkick?

NE special teams are just not the same without Gronkowski!

And that Hail Mary throw by Aaron Rodgers, wow, what a thing of beauty.

I don't understand why defenses don't assign someone to be in front of the play. Everyone was behind the receiver, all he had to do was grab it. Saw the same thing in college this year.

Lions had two guys standing in no-man's land. Caldwell admitted they weren't playing the full hail mary defense (which would have included Calvin Johnson) because they underestimated Rodgers' arm strength.

Nah, they lost because they missed 2 tackles. Maybe you're in trouble if those were missed by the QB and punter, but still ...

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Murray, who sat down with Lurie to air grievances on the team flight home from Sunday’s win at New England, believes that Kelly has broken the promises that Kelly made to him during the free agent recruiting process.

According to the report, Murray thinks he isn’t a good fit in Kelly’s offense and that changes haven’t been made to accommodate Murray’s running style. Murray thinks it’s “strange” that he didn’t play much on Sunday.

So much LOL in there. LOL Chip Kelly as a GM. LOL DeMarco Murray taking a lot of money, sucking, and whining. LOL owners even meeting with players about this kind of stuff. LOL running backs.

Thursday Night Football is so much nicer when Phil Simms isn't involved.

Also, I thought Case Keenum wasn't bad with the Texans, just the rest of the team kind of quit that season, and he's doing OK again tonight.

But now it is good for the Cowboys to lose the remaining games. Get Romo fit again and make a new try next year - add a top quality WR, CB and NT and the team ought to be walking the NFC East.

adding 3 top quality players at those positions is hoping for too much. :)

If teams could do that they would...

Haha, I was def rooting for us to lose. My dad said he couldn't do it and was rooting for us to win though. It is more fun to watch losing with Moore than CASSEL. Dude will at least YOLO it to dez and see what happens, Cassel throws picks when hes trying to throw the ball away.

Well, uh, good strategy for keeping the Steelers out of the playoffs, I guess?

Kicking off to start overtime? Seems pretty reasonable - it's a pretty close decision in average circumstances to begin with, defense seemed to rule the game, and if you managed to choose to play with the wind as well...

Interesting article on the NFL site about next week's Packers-Vikes game.

From the Packers PoV.

Win and host Seattle

Lose and go to Washington

Which do you prefer ?

That would be too obvious. A superior way to do it would be to let the score end up tied, not try to score on your last possession, win the flip in OT, choose to kick, then instruct your defense to allow the opponents to score. O_o

Still, would be easier/less injury risk to just go for two to win in regulation and throw an incomplete pass, followed by botching the onside kick.

I actually think going for two would have been a great decision. NE seemed to be able to pick up 2 yards at will in the game, the problem was just that picking up 2 yards three times in a row doesn't actually give you a first down. And not risking injuries by going to OT is a legit strategy given their place in the standings.

As for kicking, apparently since the rule change 50.7% of receiving teams have won in OT. Sounds close enough but probably a couple of percent go to tie games. Anyway, I think Slater just goofed by saying "we want to kick" rather than "we want to pick sides".
