Dear UK based friends,

I will soon be moving back to the Netherlands. My cat Fizz, 10 year old very friendly female shorthair (tortoise fur), is seeking a new home then. If all else fails I will take her with me but the journey is stressful and I would have to arange a temporary place for her until I can find a place where I can keep her, as I will in first instance live in a room with shared facilities which is not a place to keep a pet.

So it would be best if she could find a new home in the UK.

She is always friendly with visitors and is very easy to handle.

As an adoptee myself, I wish your cat the very best.

When Becky and I moved in together, I had a cat and Becky had a dog. Mostly they got along, but the dog would sometimes come and escort me out to the kitchen so that I could see that the cat had jumped up onto the kitchen counter. He very much expected me to do something about this breach [oops, I thnk the vamp for correcting my breech of spelling) in etiquette.

Meaning he thought the cat was an arse?

Helene, I think that it may be difficult to find a home for your cat because a 10yo cat is going to be expensive to insure. AnywAy I hope it works out well for her.

I just got het vaccines up to date and got and extensive vet check including cleaning of her teeth. So she should not be too expensive in the near future. And she doesn't require any special diet. But yes, I understand that most people prefer a younger cat.

Best wishes to you both. I grew up in Minnesota and lived all of my adult years in Maryland. This adventurous moving about sounds exciting, so give us updates.

I will be doing research on childhood cancer. The institute where I will be working is running two large multi-centre registries, one for leukaemia and one for kidney cancer.
