I'd pass. It's just one of those spots where if I could bid exactly the right contract it would definitely be right to bid, but we have very little chance of getting there since partner will bid too much or we might get to the wrong strain etc.

IMO Pass = 10, Double = 9. 3 = 7. If you go against Phatomsac's wise advice, then double might be best, hoping that partner was fiexed with tricks.

I would bid at the 2 level (if I could) but the 3 level is too much.

hmf. Nonvul at matchpoints. I feel like trying something seminutso, so I will double. Partner has to have something, I think (hope?) he can bid a round suit more than half the time.

Double for me. I've been repeatedly burned at MPs for undercompeting at the two level.

Yeah exactly, the 2 level is a lot different than the 3 level.
