my computer has some kinda bug so I can't post hand diagram, If anyone could create it for me I'd appreciate it

bidding:

1s (2h) x (p) 3c (p) 4nt (p) 5d (p) 6c ppp

declarer:

aq732
kt3
VOID
k9762

Dummy
k5
A6
AQJ75
QT54

lead = queen of hearts, lefty puts in 9 (hearts are 6-2)

my question is how to play trumps

and yes the bidding is terrible but there you go
"definitely that's what I like to play when I'm playing standard - I want to be able to bid diamonds because bidding good suits is important in bridge" - Meckstroth's opinion on weak 2 diamond

Eagles123 asks "How to play trumps?"
IMO you should lead low to dummy's Q.

I agree with nige. West's overcall makes them a huge favourite to hold the Ac, so the main advantage is picking it up if it's singleton.

W probably wouldn't bid 2H with a suit headed by QJ with only the DK and 1 or 2 black jacks so probably has the CA.

Can he have AJx?

We can suspect H are 6-2 because of no preempt (but with all the missing honours he would not preempt in 2nd seat though). So unless D are very irregularly distributed or E has a violent SD 2-suiter, W shouldn't have 3C.

Running the maths is too complicated for me but although not unlikely, I still think W will not have AJx so I would lead small towards the Q.

Did I just go down?

Imo, West holding CAJx is more likely than West holding CA & SJ considering he is having atleast 11 pts.
