Cue bidding Ace with Kx

It is not uncommon, even where in principle your agreement is to cue first round controls, that if fully worth a cue bid, but there is no convenient suit to cue below game, to "shade" the cue and show a King. It is now well known that GIB follows this.
You might argue that the explanation should only promise 2nd round control, but if the style is not to cue second rounds routinely but only exceptionally where fixed, the existing explanation may arguably be better, given the finite space available.
What I do find strange about this hand is that North is "only" worth a non-forcing 2H bid and then worth a slam try opposite a non-forcing 3H raise. Shame that the explanations of South's bids are missing.

If you agree with a minimum advance, then I see no problem with a strength-showing action on the next round.
The problem I do have with N's bidding is the failure to make the prepared 2S initial advance, leaving Hearts in reserve.
