2S, natural, non-forcing.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

PASS (in tempo, of course)
1♠ is forcing so I see no need to get involved. Yet. The OPPs are not going too high and if they get together in ♦s I may have a chance to call ♠s (still natural) or make a balancing X which partner may be in a position to convert.

Absolutely! What do you think partner has?
If they have long diamonds to go with their dreck the opponents are headed for a minus and may chase themselves into something I can double. As opposed to a VERY low percentage action that may get +110 or so but more likely to hand them a plus score.

p is painful, but might be right. 2s with that suit does not appeal. 1n or even 2c if you must bid.
