The font problem is now fixed in both Chrome and Firefox. New version is 1.0.25 in both.
If you check for add-on updates in Firefox, it will update.
Close and reopen the BBO page after the update.

Version 1.0.29 (both Chrome and Firefox) is now published.

TAB key now always selects the 1st (or only) item in the auto-complete list.

BBOText is now available again for Chrome as well as Brave browsers as a free extension from the Chrome Web Store:

A click on the extension icon provides a new dialog for editing/copying/importing auto-complete phrases:
