From the practice table.
I was a little surprised to find that all three robots passed after looking at my dismal 3442 - 7 count.
What did the three robots have?

I would certainly open as North. Many people would. Even 4th hand can open citing the rule of 15 :)

Welcome back. Hanoi5, who quotes ...

North seems to have exercised judgement, here. If Pilowsky as dealer, can't open, then East-West might be in the slam-zone :)

its a strange hand. e/w can make 3nt as cards are. with best defense n/s go down -2 in possible 2 contract. but all human north would open 1 imo. what happen after that is anyone to guess?

Many people here play 11-13 or 11-14 in 4th seat for 1N

Is that a good idea?

Hoping that N/S don't find the optimum lead to defeat a 3NT contract?

I would open N automatically. Maybe also E, depending on opponents, partner and the moon.

Not if K hits the deck in first trick.

I would open north but wouldn’t like it and I open east in third seat because I can comfortably pass any response.

Not if K hits the deck in first trick.

Assuming North's on lead otherwise its 2/5

Not sure, it's just common that if you play 12-14 in the other 3 seats, then you drop the minimum reqs to 11 in 4th seat as you are odds on to have the majority of the points. Some drop it to 11-13 so that partner is never tempted to raise.

One way or the other, K has to hit the deck.
More likely with South on lead than with North.
