I was dealt this in a club game.
What now?
Was 2 - Cappelletti - right?

Wild horses couldn’t make me play Capp….arguably one of the worst defences ever invented.

Even more wild horses couldn’t make me overcall showing both majors.

I’d bid 3S or 4S, depending on my opps and my own mood.

As it is, what I do now is a bit of a guess. Double seems obvious but that depends on what I think of my opponents. Declarer should run, but bad players don’t always…or often…do the right thing. So I’d insult a player I felt was weak…by doubling. If I think they have half a clue, I pass.

I showed this as a two suiter? With such a disparity in length and strength??

I would have bid 4S last time.

I wouldn't treat that as a two suited hand with such massive disparity between the majors. I would double (if that is penalties) then bid some number of spades when the opponents run which must show a hand with a solid running suit. It may depend on what partner does.

If a penalty double is not available I would bid 3.

Who said bad bidding is never rewarded.

Not bidding 4S allowed opps to be in 3NT which I’ll pass and run S on the lead. Maybe they scr*** up the bidding (2NT nat for opener vs transfer for the other?). In all cases the bird quietly sits in, there is no reason to wake her up.

If it goes 4C pass pass, I’ll toss a coin

I understood while people call it Crapelletti after looking for it. Terrible defense indeed.

We have a lot of wild horses in Australia - they need regular culling.
My first thought was 3 or 4 - I should have stuck with it.

My thinking was (surprisingly) similar to Mike's.
I wondered if 2NT was Leb (not alerted) and 3NT was a failure to accept the transfer because West thought 2NT was an invite with a spade stopper.
Given that partner had passed twice (and he isn't very conservative) I figured EW had around 30 HCP and defeating 3NT was the best outcome.
I was also worried that opps would run elsewhere if I doubled.
3NT-3 was 54%; one pair took 3NT-3X for 79%

Here's the full hand:

I would have led the 5 of diamonds at trick 1, hoping to hit my partner's long suit.
