You bid 1 4; P without opposition and take the hearts lead in dummy which has T98xx opposite your AJxxx.
How do you tackle the trumps?

If you need to know what LHO does:
Spoiler

If it matters, this is IMPs and you can afford to lose one.

Did you mistype, because a finesse is 100% trivial.. or is there a twist, like a robot was playing and cashed the ace due to some silly assumption in the bidding?

No, just looking for a sanity check that a finesse is 100% trivial.

The only possible reason for not finessing is if declarer thinks that losing the trump finesse will result in a ruff. No opposition bidding suggests that is not the case.

I guess another situation would be if there is only 1 entry to dummy and you need to take another finesse in a side suit.

Or if they're 2-1 you endplay the opps to sort out a K10x/AJx suit or give you a ruff and discard

The question for GIB is whether there was a reason for not taking a trump finesse.
