GIB IMP tournament. For North's re-opening bid, choices and given descriptions include:
1♠: 3+C; 4+S; 11-21 HCP; 12-22 total points
1NT: 3-5C; 2-5D; 2-5H; 2-5S; 18-19HCP
2♣: 4+C; 11-21 HCP; 12-22 total points
2♠: 5+C; 4+S; 16-22 total points
2NT: 2-6C; 2-6D; 2-5H; 2-5S; 21 HCP; 22 total points; stop in H; 13+ relay points
No one chose to reopen with a double, so I don't know what description would have been provided for that option. I think I looked at it when playing the hand and decided against it. (Yes, the 7 Norths who faced this decision actually made these 5 different choices.)
1♠: Are there really hands >17HCP that would make this bid?
2♣: Are there really hands with only 4C that would make this bid? Would a strong hand with rebiddable clubs re-open 3♣?
2NT: 6D? 5S? Exactly 21HCP?
I'm not sure exactly what I think the descriptions should be, but it seems that these are too broad.
