How do you play redouble here?
What would you bid with said hand?

don't need redouble for any spade raise...have 2D and 3D (mixed) for that, plus splinters and jumps.

We use redouble for a high spade honor for lead purposes, but I am sure there are better uses which will be explained by others.

This hand is easy for us; raise to 2S, same as if pard had opened, but more comfortable with the opening diamond bid on the left.

I play XX as 2 cards in spades and a hand that wants to compete.

I often play transfers in this auction in which case I would show a constructive raise. Not playing that I would bid 2D showing a limit raise, my diamond holding is pretty meh but I think it's too big of a downgrade to just bid 1S. Perhaps 1N natural would be a reasonable compromise if I played that.

I think the 2 obvious ways to play redouble here are as either 2 spades (ie a support redouble showing a 7 card fit) or as xxx in spades allowing a 2S raise show an honour (which might help us on defence). The latter is not far off the reverse from agua except his redouble also caters to Hx. I have read that this reversal is better for this reason. In any case, if playing such a redouble I would XX or bid 2S depending on which version is in play, or bid 1NT if XX is used for something else.

2S is fine by me. 2D feels like a (gross) overbid, with a 4333 10-count AND a shaky DK AND partner is an overcaller not an opener. I've been known to raise just to 2S after 1S openings with my worst 4333 10-counts.

I like to use XX to show a doubleton honor in spades and a desire to compete - sort of halfway between support and rosenkranz - but know that requiring the honor is uncommon.

I play 1nt natural and constructive, 8 to a poor 11 and would bid it. Pard can often compete but if the opps do I'll bid 2 next.

We do overcall on chunky 4-card suits with a reason (often length here) so I can easily land on my head.

Who cares what rdbl is? Just bid 2S or 1NT or 2D or whatever. All these bids are fine.

Same for me.
- good to be remembered that this xfer is also valid after the DBL.
- We play 1NT natural, but I would go for 2H -good raise.
BTW: I don't think 2H with the transfers is really different then 2D if you don't play transfer.

We play that xx shows a S honor and pd is at liberty to lead a S.
This is close between 2D and 2S. The sterile distribution however outs me in the 2S camp.

The OP cares. That is why he asked, and why others answered what it would be for them.
