easy pass. yes spades score more but even if partner has 2+ of them we would expect more tricks in clubs. if opps compete we can try 2♠ which after passing clearly offers a choice of black suit.

pass. The biggest upside I see to 2♠ is it might keep them out of their red suit contract - I'm willing to bet we score better in clubs than spades on 70% of hands consistent with this bidding, and equal scoring on another 25% of hands.

(2S the first round if playing weak jump shifts, but that has pre-emptive value that we've lost now)
p.s. historically, in this sequence 2S used to be played as quite a constructive call; compared to 1D-1S-2C-2S where it was just a weak hand with long spades.

I'm tempted by 2S at MPs - maybe it makes 110 instead of 90. That spade suit is rather rubbish though.

The main point of bidding 2♠ is not which partial is safer or scores more, but to keep opponents form finding their plus score.
Even if 2♠ goes down one or two, it might score quite well.
Expecting to be allowed to play in 2♣ peacefully at all white is a bit naive.

Pass. Bidding 2S and expecting not to be doubled when it is wrong seems very naive to me.

I never said or implied I would stay in 2♠ doubled.
I implied that passing 2♣ is an open invitation to opponents, particularly at all white, to find their red suit fit.
