This auction is actually different than it would have been a week ago, due to some changes we just made in our passed hand auctions. Today:
P - 1♣
1♥ - 2♣
2N - 3N
Translation:
N: 0-9 without a preempt or 10-11 with no 5+ suit, S: 16+
N: 5-8 points, 4+, S: 4+ clubs GF, or rebiddable clubs with no 4+ major
N: balanced, denies 4 spades, S: to play
Last week:
P - 1♣
1♦ - 2♣
2♥ - 2♠
2N - 3N
Translation:
N: 0-9 without a preempt or 10-11 with no 5+ suit, S: 16+
N: 0-8 points, S: 16-~21, 5+
N: 5-8 points, 4+ hearts, S: 4+ spades
N: no fit, S: to play
Still working on these passed hand auctions, but the 1♦ as double negative or GF seems like an improvement over 1♦ as 0-8 (since the pass already showed weakness).

No preempt from us.
P-1♣ strong
1♦-1♥ most 0-7, some GFs; art most minimums, but also some stronger club hands
1♠-2♣ 0-7; natural 5+, 16-21ish
2♥-2♠ 5+ natural invitational forcing; natural forcing
2N-3N no fit; game

1♥ - 1♠ 1♥ = art. positive, denies three controls. forcing to 2N 1♠ = 4+ Spades
1N - 2♣ 2♣ = forcing (could be canape)
2♠ - 3♦ 2S = natural, 3D = natural
3N
Some might prefer
P - 1♣ P = Not suitable for a preempt. 1♣ = Blue Club
1♥ - 1♠ 1♥ = art. positive, denies three controls. forcing to 2N 1♠ = 4+ Spades
2♥ - 3N

1♥-2♣ (7-11; 15-20 5+♣ unbal, no 4cM if 15-17)
2♥-2♠ (7-bad 9 5♥; 18-20 4♠5♣)
3♦-3N (do you want to declare 3N?; yes)

Pass - 1♣ (strong)
1NT - 2♣ (5+♥ with 5+ hcp and 2-6RP, GF relay)
3♦ - 3NT (3532, to play)
Wrong-sided in some sense I guess.

1♣ - 1♦ with only 5 card suit, no upgrade
2♣ - p if partner was balanced, would have bid Cambridge Hearts, no 5 card major, not balanced, likely we have only a 7 card fit.

What does the 2♣ bid show here? Unbalanced with 16-19 and 5+ clubs, I assume? For partner to pass with 7 high card points and a good 5 card suit (a hand they could almost have forced to game on) it seems like you expect responder to pass after 1♣-1♦-2♣ most of the time. Won't you miss some good games?

Yeah. Doesn't responder have to show his hand? There's 27 points here and I think you need to be in game.

1C-1H
2C-2H (any 19+ / either 6-9 or 13+ with a fifth heart, usually not 2-suited)
3NT (or explore one more round and then bid 3NT maybe)
It's a terrible hand for Malfoir, which will be forced into
1C-1H
3C (19+ 5+) but land on its feet, after either 3H-3NT or just 3NT by north,

Pass 2000
It probably depends on the mood of the day, but NV I would open norths hand (I would really like partner to lead hearts if we're defending). So the auction might go like this:
1D (4+ hearts, 8-11 hcp, may have longer minor) - 1H (relay, may be weak);
1N (not 4 spades nor 5+ minor) - 2C (GF relay);
2D (single-suiter) - 2H ®;
3D (3-5-3-2) - 3NT;
If north decides to pass:
P (0-7 / 17+) - 1C (0-7 / 17+);
1D (0-7) - 1H (20+);
2D (5-7, 5+H) - 2NT (nat);
3NT.

1♦-1♠ (0-7 any or GF 4441 ; 4+♠ F1)
2♦-2♥ (5-7, 3♠ ; GF 4♠ longer m)
(2♠-3♣) (relay ; 5+♣)
3♥-3NT (natural ; no fit)
North can also decide not to ask for the minor and bid 3♥ immediately.

pass - 1♣
1♦ - 2♣
2♦ - 3♦
3♠ - 3NT
Explanation:
1♣ = 16+, not a balanced 16-20
1♦ = relay, denying several one or two suited hands with 0-7 HCP
2♣ = 5+- card ♣, not GF
2♦ = relay, 6/7+ HCP
3♦ = 5+-card ♣ and a 4-card M, 19-21 HCP
3♠ = at maximum 3-card ♠, 4+card ♥
3NT = not a 4-card ♥, sign off

I appreciate your position and relknes'. It certainly seem like there should be a game on points (at NT). I can't
imagine a hand that matches the bidding and makes game in a major. I don't see a better bid for declarer
in our system. He can show precise points, by lying about shape. My partner did that 2 days ago, and got transferred
into his singleton. (He had the ace.)
That said, I looked at the hand, and despite the points, see little offensive value.
Unless opener has the ♥K, the hand has a single trick in NT or a minor suit contract.
It is good for one entry to take a finesse. I suppose it could also be said that it limits opponents to a single
heart trick, forcing them to lead one of the other three suits.
I do not feel especially strongly that it was right. Maybe a 2 club rebid is wrong. Maybe partner is only going to
need the ♥A and a 2♥ bid should be made - but if he is 16--18, that bid feels like a nail in the coffin
to me. I guess it boils down to how often this bid misses game, versus how often bidding on fails.
I am going to put this on our forum to see how some more expert than I at this system feel about it.
- Rethinking..
Partner could have as much as 4 of one major - one which could be good and one which would not be horrible. I guess I am persuaded that pass may not be best.

It sounds to me that your opener rebids a 5-cd minor instead of mentioning a 4-cd minor. I think you have to consider that opener could have x Kxxx AKQ KJxxx or even better. I'd propose...
1C-1D,
2C-2H,
2S-3C
3N
in which 2S is a forcing bid. Let us know what the expert forum comes up with.

P
... - 1♣ = 15+ nat/bal or 18+ any
1♦ = most non-GF
... - 1♥ = 18-20 any or 23+ bal
1♠ = relay
... - 2♣ = 5+ clubs, 18-20, unbal
2♥ = nat, constructive
... - 2♠ = nat
3♦ = 4th suit forcing
... - 3NT
That said, the auction is a positive masterpiece against the two 16-21 auctions (relknes and rbf). I assume 2NT from North here is an invite and South is generally going to pass with an 18 count. Feels like some missed games are likely. You need some pretty good bidding judgement to use a 6 point range here!
