Boring, yes. Just pass this one back to partner.
It is so boring to NOT take a bad action:
Dbl gets 2D, now what??
2C not likely a best spot.
2H into a misfit H:K9xx for RHO.
AQ tenaces UNDER their overcall.
Trust partner listened to this auction and makes a good decision.

I'd quite like to play 2C, 2D or 2H opposite very little from partner. Why not X? If we pass partner will never play us for 17 points.

I can think of about 25 ways to overbid this hand, and I'm spoilt for choice. I love overbidding.

However, I'm passing this one.

Double is typically played as takeout of spades with extra values. With an 18-19 type hand usually you just pass, partner passed over 1S and the opponents are unlikely to be psyching so it's just better to defend than get involved with no known fit.

IMO the question is just whether we want to bid 2C or pass here, they both seem like pretty appealing options (our hand with chunky suits should play fine at the 2 level, but there is some risk of turning a plus into a minus since we also have good defense vs NT, and they might even start doubling us on a really bad day).

Personally I think 2C is best, if LHO is going to bid 2D Or 2S I don't want to get into the guessing game again later. Usually 2C is 5-5 but hopefully my compensating strength is enough.

2 at MPs stands out IMO, damned opps will have 9 guarding the hearts and defence against 1NT will suck.

I'd bid 2 and I don't consider this overbidding. Otherwise you might as well have opened 1NT...

Micky B: "IMPS"

IMO 2 = 10, Pass = 9, Double = 5. Quacks like a duck :)

I'd pass.

Although with poor values (queens and jacks) with a shapely hand I like to compete. 2 is my choice.
