55% rebate, ver 32

Seems strange to show H before S. Particularly as according to the explanation he is supposed to have a 6th Spade.

Presumably I "must" have 3 Spades (or at least as good Spades as Hearts), given the pass over the X. Not too keen on the X but I guess that is system.

Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

How great Gib's judgement !
How bravo Gib's bidding !
According to Gib CC:
1- In the normal situation without interference,it goes after 1nt:
1nt - 2
2 - 2= invite in 5-5 majors

2- In the normal situation with interference,it goes after double:
1nt --2 --(X)
Pass=deny 3-card , Gib can be easy to judge 5-3 fit at least in ,so it is very good to bid up to 4.

Are you saying that knowledge that South had a major suit doubleton is sufficient for North to upgrade from invite to GF in the other major?

With 10 total points opposite a NT overcall, North should always intend to force game if he find a major suit fit. But, I'm not thrilled with the determination that South must have a 3card major. Does South bid 2 over East's 1 with KJ, AK, KQxx, xxxxx? (Maybe he redoubles 2 if he's 2254, so I omitted that.)

I have a suspicion that GIB often uses walrus rules in first round and simulations in second round. That could easily cause it to change its mind from invitational to GF. But maybe the dbl caused it to upgrade the stiff diamond.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket
