A mind is a terrible thing to lose.

Since I thought of 2C as definitely no and X as not crazy but still I wouldn't, I am glad to see your choice of X.

I suppose there was some discussion of just who was entitled to the straight jacket?

The 5 level belongs to me, as the old saying goes. Or something like that.

My worry about doubling was that it might unduly encourage partner to bid 3S!

Really? Like your partner is coming in after you pass?
When a deaf person goes to court is it still called a hearing?
What is baby oil made of?

Why not? He bid to 5S opposite the same expected strength, the only sirprise being shape.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."
