Again, I am not playing. The result was from another table. Most people passed the jump to 3♥ and made four after GIB East comically led the ♦T when in with the fourth trump. But one intrepid South was rewarded when he bid 3NT over 3♥.

On another thread, GIB was given credit for unblocking although it cost a trick and it was unlikely to beat the contract. I thought it was just as likely to have been a random play. Not overtaking (unblocking) the club and playing a club back is just another random play.

There are a lot of funny things about this, not the least of which being that GIB doesn't continue clubs in spite of the fact that the only legitimate chance of beating the hand is that it gets in with the queen of diamonds. But it knows that South has the king of diamonds and that playing AK will drop its queen, so it gives up.

GIB also undervalues AKx AKxxxx Axx x. I'm pretty sure I don't want to stop short of game when I open this hand and partner bids 1NT.

GIB didn't continue clubs because it was worried about a Bath Coup. GIB is color blind so hearts and clubs look the same.
