Basic GIB typically accepts just with a maximum HCP (and of course, it doesn't count points for length), which is too conservative. Advanced GIB should theoretically be better than humans at deciding when to accept (assuming it's allowed to simulate here, which it should).

Before playing GiB I used to think quantitative bids were very specific

It is generally about right when it comes to vanilla balanced hands, but it's too walrussy with shapy hands and when it knows about a fit which partner doesn't know about.
So it's best to try to avoid quantis before partner's shape is known to be strictly balanced.

in my own experience...say opening 2NT showing 20-21.....when GIB invites
even if you opened on 19hcp it usually rolls to 12 tricks
you might need another in the poll like "who knows"
